I am the leaf of purpose
I am not the trunk of tree
Bound by life’s umbilical cord
To a lifelong tethered servitude
A constant without rest
Of years evolved engineering
I wish for what I cannot be
I wish of unrestrained autonomy
But when all is said and done
When all words has been unsung
I cannot escape from what I am
Nor it’s single unassailable truth
That freedom would not just bring about the death of me
But that of everything else

The Leaf
